On the one hand, I hate learning that I’ve held a mistaken notion for so long. On the other hand, I love it because unlearning requires opening the floodgates to a new perception. Unfortunately, I’m still stuck with the suspicion that, regardless of the party in the minority, those short-term pragmatic considerations mentioned by Dr. Binder are going to continue to hold sway.
